Love, laughter & happily ever after - I can’t get enough of it! I’m Shan & I’m the Owner/Photographer at Captured Photography and Design. I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember - it’s a passion rather than a job. I’ve created a life that sees me combine my two greatest loves - travel & photography - & I have the honour of capturing the happiest day of someone’s life…it really doesn’t get any better for me!
I’ve travelled far & wide, capturing weddings from Darwin to Tasmania, Broome to Brisbane & everywhere in between over the past decade. I’m a destination wedding lover & am equally happy capturing an intimate backyard wedding as I am a luxe, big scale affair. I’m right at home by the coast, living beachside myself, & I’m a little country at heart.
Whatever vibe you’re going for, you’re in the best of hands. The locations may differ, but my focus is always on chasing & capturing that beautiful natural light & those authentic, unplanned intimate moments. That’s the gold right there for me!
A little more about who I am? Family is everything to me & I adore that I leave every wedding feeling like a part of the family that I just had the pleasure of spending the day with. Photos aside, my couples say it’s the huge amount of love & great energy that I bring along on the day that sets me apart - I get crazy excited about every wedding that I capture! If you’re after someone that you can truly be yourselves around & want your day to be relaxed, candid & fun - I’m your girl & you’re my kind of people.
When you’re at ease & in the moment, that’s when the magic happens in front of the camera. I break into a happy dance every time that perfect shot is captured & will literally sprint to ensure you get those golden hour shots before the sun sets. I’ll also undoubtedly shed a tear alongside your family because I love…well, LOVE! I also love a party, so if Love Shack starts playing, I’ll be joining you on the dance floor with camera in hand! Your photographer will probably capture the last best photo of someone you really care about. They’ll remember. They’ll be thinking of that with every press of the shutter. It’s something that’s always on my mind when I capture every wedding. Just how special those moments are. They are irreplaceable & I’m the one capturing them.
For me, it’s about the moments captured that will be passed down through the generations of people who become friends & then feel like family when I say goodbye. It’s about the moments with loved ones that will be cherished long after they’re gone. That’s the good stuff right there. Your photographic memories of your day are everything.
